Cuentaviñas Alomado 2021 is a red wine from D.O.Ca. Rioja made by Eduardo Eguren , fifth generation of one of the most influential families of Spanish wine. It comes from vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra , in soils of calcareous character with Atlantic influence that bring freshness and elegance to the wine. It is made mainly with Tempranillo , accompanied by small proportions of traditional varieties such as Viura, Malvasía and Calagraño , which add complexity and nuances to the whole.
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a double selection in the winery before fermenting in small French oak vats. The wine is then aged for around 16-18 months in large French oak barrels , followed by a brief refinement in the bottle, seeking to preserve the purity of the vineyard and the expression of the terroir.
In the glass it presents aromas of ripe red and black fruits with delicate hints of vanilla and spices from the aging process. The palate is elegant, juicy and well-balanced , with polished tannins and a long, harmonious finish that reflects its origin in the Rioja's Sonsierra region. A refined and gastronomic wine that goes perfectly with roasted meats, game dishes, stews or cured cheeses.
