Condado de Haza "20 Aldeas" 2022 is a red wine produced by Bodegas Condado de Haza , a project of the Fernández Rivera family located in Ribera del Duero, although this wine is marketed under the IGP Castilla y León. It is produced with 100% Tempranillo from organically farmed vineyards located in the municipalities of Roa and La Horra , at an altitude of 750-800 meters above sea level on clay and sandy soils.
Vinification is carried out in the traditional way with fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for at least 12 months in the cellar in different wood formats , such as 225 and 500 liter barrels and large foudres, combining French and American oak to provide complexity without hiding the fruit.
The nose presents intense aromas of ripe black fruit such as blackberry and plum , accompanied by notes of licorice, vanilla, coffee and toasted nuances from aging. The palate is powerful and fleshy , with round tannins, good acidity and a long finish where hints of black fruit and roasted coffee reappear.
The 2022 vintage has received 95 James Suckling points , standing out for its balance between fruit, structure and freshness.
It is a very gastronomic wine that goes particularly well with grilled meats, roast lamb, suckling pig or semi-cured cheeses.
