From the privileged terroir of the slopes of Monte Yerga in Alfaro, from a strict selection of grapes and precise vinification, this expressive, elegant and captivating pearl is born.
La Montesa 2020 is a red wine from the D.O.Ca. Rioja made by Bodegas Palacios Remondo , the historic family winery of Álvaro Palacios located in Alfaro, in the Eastern Rioja. This wine is made mainly with Garnacha from sustainably farmed vineyards on the slopes of Monte Yerga , where the clay-limestone soils and Mediterranean influence bring freshness and character to the wine. After vinification, the wine is aged for about 12 months in oak barrels , seeking an elegant balance between fruit expression and oak complexity.
In the glass it has a bright cherry red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and strawberry stand out, accompanied by floral notes, aromatic herbs and delicate spicy touches from the aging. The palate is silky, fresh and balanced , with soft tannins and an elegant texture that leads to a long, harmonious finish , where the fruit and spicy notes integrate naturally.
Thanks to its balance and gastronomic character, it is an ideal wine to accompany grilled meats, roasts, game dishes, rice dishes or cured cheeses , authentically reflecting the personality of Rioja Oriental Garnacha.
