Marqués de Riscal 150 Aniversario 2017 is an iconic Gran Reserva from Rioja DOCa (Spain) , produced by one of the country’s most historic wineries. It is only made in exceptional vintages , using mainly Tempranillo from very old vines (over 80 years old) , resulting in a wine of great concentration and depth.
The winemaking combines tradition and precision, with a long ageing period of around 30–32 months in French oak barrels , followed by several years of bottle ageing. This process creates a complex and balanced wine that reflects the classic Rioja Alavesa style with both power and elegance.
In the glass it shows a very deep dark cherry colour , with aromas of balsamic notes, toast and spices (black pepper, cinnamon). On the palate it is structured, silky and concentrated , with round tannins and a long, persistent finish. A great ageing wine, ideal with red meats, roasts, game dishes or aged cheeses.
