Pegaso Arrebatacapas 2022 is an iconic wine made in the slate vineyards of the Sierra de Gredos, part of the Pegaso project. It comes from an exceptional plot and is made from Garnacha from a challenging harvest.
Pegaso Arrebatacapas 2022 embodies the essence of the slate vineyards of the Sierra de Gredos, standing out as one of the most recognized wines of the Pegaso project, led by Telmo Rodríguez, Pablo Eguzkiza, and Carlos Sainz. It comes from an exclusive plot of 2.1 hectares, planted in 1953 at an altitude of 1,050 meters, exemplifying the distinctive character of the Cebreros terroirs, exuding elegance and depth. The 2022 harvest was influenced by a dry summer and a fire in the region. However, the vineyard acted as a firewall, allowing for a harvest in two stages to maintain fruit quality. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, the wine underwent long maceration and aged for 12 months in used 600-liter barrels, followed by a fining in stainless steel. Intense aromas of raspberry, cherry, and red fruits, combined with notes of hibiscus, rosemary, lavender, and cedar, characterize its nose. On the palate, it is deep, elegant, with soft tannins and vibrant acidity, culminating in a mineral and lingering finish. Perfect for pairing with lamb, grilled meats, game birds, mushrooms, mountain rice, and aged cheeses.
