Remirez de Ganuza UV 2022 is an exquisite red wine from the emblematic DOCa Rioja, produced by Bodegas Remírez de Ganuza, located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra (Rioja Alavesa). This wine is made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes sourced from the La Rad vineyard, planted in 1973. The uniqueness of the name 'UV' signifies 'Unique Vineyard,' indicating its origin from a singular plot. The harvest is carried out manually in small boxes to ensure the quality of the grapes. Subsequently, careful selection takes place on the sorting table where only the best grapes are chosen. The vinification process includes a 48-hour cold maceration before fermentation begins, which uses native yeasts, enhancing the terroir's character. The wine then ages for approximately 16 months in 233-liter French oak barrels, adding complexity and subtlety to the final product. Production is extremely limited, with only 1,642 bottles produced in the 2022 vintage.
