Sen is a powerful laxative infusion that directly acts on the intestinal mucosa, increasing peristaltic movements in the colon. It is important to use this infusion moderately and only at specific times, as continuous use can lead to dependence. It is made from dried fruits of the Cassia angustifolia (sen pod). To prepare the infusion, it is recommended to dissolve 10 grams of sen in one liter of boiling water at 100ºC, letting it steep for 5 to 8 minutes.
