Naturalis Mer Red is an organic and vegan red wine from the D.O. Terra Alta, produced by Celler Batea. This wine is made from the Garnacha Negra grape variety, grown in the best organic vineyards. Production involves a careful process of destemming, crushing, and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Using native yeasts and minimal intervention, a daily pumping over process is performed until the alcoholic fermentation is completed. Once finished, the wine is bled into concrete tanks to begin malolactic fermentation without adding lactic bacteria. It has a mature cherry red color and presents a bouquet of red fruits such as ripe cherry, wild strawberries, raspberries, black licorice, and a touch of spices. On the palate, the wine is flavorful, meaty, balanced, and well-structured. It recalls red and black fruits, with a mineral and spicy touch in a persistent finish. It is ideal for pairing with white meats with strong sauces, lamb, stews, and all types of cheeses, preferably sheep's cheese, as well as salads with nuts.
