Tanuki Bob is a red wine from the V.T. Mallorca produced by 4 Kilos Vinícola with Syrah and Manto Negro grapes
4 Kilos emakes its wines in Felanitx, in the heart of the island of Mallorca. Here the climate is mild Mediterranean, with dry, hot summers and little rainfall. They practice rational agriculture, very respectful of the environment, and with minimal intervention. They use the autochthonous vegetation cover, with a large microbiological population with the aim of having a good biodiversity in the vineyard
Tanuki Bob is a red wine made with Manto Negro and Syrahfrom vineyards located in clay-loam soils with presence of ferric oxide, called "Call Vermell"
Call Vermell"
After manual harvest with grape selection in the same vineyard, fermented in 4,000 litre vats with indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, it is aged for 9 months in the same vats and 9 more months in stainless steel tanks. Before being put on the market it rests for 6 months in the bottle
The origin of the name of the winery, 4 kilos (4 million pesetas) was the initial investment of Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero, the two partners of the newly created Mallorcan winery 4 kilos Vinícola S.L. A modest investment for this sector, which shows that a good wine does not depend on a great economic effort but on an ambition for quality and a passion for the product
Tasting note of Tanuki Bob
Tanuki Bob has a pale garnet red colour. The nose is a harmonious symphony of crisp, fresh red fruits: raspberries and blackberries accompanied by a hint of Mediterranean, bay leaf, cassis and a light touch of wood perfume. In the mouth it has a great volume, a fluid and thick texture and a totally melted tannin. A delicate, fresh red wine with a lot of character. Delicious and very pleasant
