Protos Roble is presented to us as an intense and fruity wine, with round tannins and a delightful finish.
Protos comes from Greek and means "First," as the winery was inaugurated in 1927, being the pioneer in the Ribera del Duero. Currently, they control 1,400 hectares, a true giant.
Protos Roble is a single-variety wine made from Tinta del País grapes. The grapes used are grown in their own vineyards. The harvest is done manually and the clusters go through a selection process. The grapes are destemmed and cold macerated to obtain the best aromas from the skins. The subsequent fermentation is carried out at a constant and controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.
Finally, Protos Roble is aged for 6 months in American oak barrels before resting for another half a year in the bottle.
Protos Roble is ideal for pairing with rice dishes, roasted meats, red meats, cured meats, and pasta with bolognese sauce. It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 15 and 17ºC.
