Production and Aging

Semele crianza 2020 is a blend of Tempranillo and Merlot grapes from the Monte Alto estate, a 50-hectare vineyard with 20-year-old vines. The vineyard was planted on clay-limestone soil, at an altitude of about 850-900 meters above sea level, between the municipalities of Valbuena and Pesquera de Duero.

Semele is aged for 12 months in oak barrels.

Tasting Notes of Semele crianza 2020

• Appearance: Semele crianza has a cherry red color with ruby rim. Clean and bright.
• Nose: On the nose, it is a clean and intense wine. Aromas of red fruit along with notes of sweet spices, toasted aromas, and balsamic undertones. Intense hints of red peppers and licorice.
• Palate: On the palate, it is smooth, fresh, and full-bodied. Fruity notes emerge. Good acidity and well-defined sweet tannins. Long and persistent finish.

Pairing

Semele crianza is ideal to accompany cured meats, mushrooms, roast dishes, roasted lamb, legumes, grilled red meats, and grilled vegetables.

It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 16ºC.
