The Volandeiras de Rianxo caught with the art of the "bou", prepared in traditional seafood sauce. We recommend tasting them in a bain-marie
The "Bou de Vara" is the art of fishing that gives its name to these preserves. Chosen because it is identified with its traditional vision and strongly rooted in the seafaring world. Its use is only authorized in the Ría de Arousa
Packed in the traditional way, piece by piece, by expert hands. From the sea to the can in a matter of hours, to preserve all its qualities with maximum freshness. It comes prepared in traditional seafood sauce, based on onion, tomato, bay leaf, vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. To enjoy with all the senses, enjoying with the sight when opening the can, to appreciate all its flavor and texture on the palate. A real delicacy.
In the last months of the year, when its capture is allowed, the flora of bou de vara returns to port with volandeiras, its star product, a bivalve mollusk of the same family as the scallop and the scallop, but with a more rounded shell and orange tone.
Like other bivalves, it is a filter-feeding species that feeds on phytoplankton. It is rich in vitamins A and B, low in fat, and high in protein and minerals such as calcium, iodine and phosphorus.
