Godeval 1986 is the ultimate expression of the Godello variety in Valdeorras, an age-worthy white wine that pays tribute to the winery’s founding year and to the revival of this historic grape. Made exclusively from selected grapes grown in the estate’s oldest vineyards in Xagoaza, this wine represents the pinnacle of Galician elegance.
Unlike young Godellos, Godeval 1986 ferments in new 500-liter French oak barrels and rests on its fine lees for months, developing a creamy texture and unmatched aromatic complexity.
In the glass, it shows a bright yellow color with golden reflections.
The nose is deep and sophisticated, combining ripe stone-fruit notes (peach, apricot) with bakery nuances, white flowers and a slate-driven mineral background characteristic of the Valdeorras terroir.
On the palate it is powerful, structured and glyceric, with vibrant acidity that promises exceptional longevity. A true oenological jewel for demanding palates seeking a Spanish white with outstanding bottle-aging potential.
Fermented in French oak barrels (500L) and aged on lees. Grapes from old vines grown on slate soils (Xagoaza).
Ageing potential of over 10 years. A tribute to the year that marked the recovery of the Godello variety.
Serve between 9–12°C in a Burgundy-style glass to enhance oxygenation. Ideal with premium seafood (lobster), oven-baked oily fish and truffled white meats.
