Semele crianza 2020 is a wine that has all the strength and character of a magnificent Tempranillo.
The Montebaco winery is located between two municipalities: Valbuena de Duero and Pesquera de Duero in the Ribera de Duero D.O., becoming an "island" in that D.O. The climate is extremely continental with very marked temperature fluctuations.
Semele crianza 2020 is a blend of Tempranillo and Merlot grapes from the Monte Alto estate, a 50-hectare vineyard with 20-year-old vines. The vineyard was planted on clay-limestone soil, at an altitude of about 850-900 meters above sea level, between the municipalities of Valbuena and Pesquera de Duero.
Semele is aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
Semele crianza is ideal to accompany cured meats, mushrooms, roast dishes, roasted lamb, legumes, grilled red meats, and grilled vegetables.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 16ºC.
