Theoak lettuce(or 'Lactuca sativa' var. 'oak') is a select variety and highly prized in haute cuisine for its distinctive appearance and delicate flavour. It owes its name to the shape of its leaves, which resemble those of the majestic tree, with wavy edges and deep lobes.
Main characteristics: hbulky, curly leaves with a colour palette ranging from light green to intensewine-red or purple, providing an exceptional visual presentation to any dish. Its texture is remarkably tender and buttery, with a light and pleasant crispness.It offers a mild, slightlysweet taste profile with nutty notesthat rarely turn bitter, which sets it apart from other more common lettuce varieties.It is ideal for gourmet salads, alone or in combination with other varieties (mixum), and integrates perfectly with mild vinaigrettes, cheeses and meats, enhancing flavours without overpowering them.
