Carnitas made from pork cooked slowly in its own fat, following the traditional technique associated with Michoacán, until juicy inside and golden brown outside. Sold precooked and vacuum packed: each bag contains 1 kg and is enough for 20-25 tacos, serving 4-5 people as a main dish. To prepare, open the bag and heat the contents in a pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring. You can also use the microwave or heat the closed bag in a water bath. For a crispy finish, leave them for a couple more minutes in the pan without stirring. Heat the tortillas without oil for 20-30 seconds on each side. For every kilo of filling, calculate half a kilo of tortillas: a 500 g package has 25 tortillas. Serve with onion, cilantro, lime, and salsa to taste. They're also suitable for tortas and burritos. The filling is not spicy; heat can be added to taste. Unopened, they last 15 days in refrigeration and up to 6 months frozen. Thaw in the fridge before heating and do not refreeze after thawing.
