Frigola is a fine liqueur obtained by the extraction of aromas in our copper still, from various plants from the island of Ibiza, mainly Thyme.


In Ibiza and Formentera, it is very common to see huge fields of flowering frígola in the months of June and July, with its white or purple flowers, depending on the variety. An ancient tradition says that this plant should be harvested very early in the morning on the day of San Juan.


Frigola is the first drink made by the Mari Mayans family, before the foundation of the first distillery in Formentera in 1880.

Aromatic plants are treated to extract their aroma by distillation, maceration and boiling methods. Natural syrup made from cane sugar, ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin and demineralised water are added to the distillates, macerations and infusions in order to achieve the desired characteristics
