Processes:
- EXTRACTION: The extraction of Ibiza and Formentera Sea Water is carried out in open sea within the first nautical mile, in areas where the minimum depth varies between 40 and 100 m, and where the collection is done between 15 and 25 m depth; seeking rocky bottoms, outside bays, ports, beaches, and generally uninhabited areas where there could be any human activity that poses a risk to the quality of sea water.
- FILTERING: Ibiza and Formentera Sea Water goes through different stages until reaching optimal filtering for human consumption. From the collection, a first pre-filtering is done to avoid solid particles in suspension. Then, three different filtration and sterilization stages are carried out, finishing with a microfiltration of 0.20 microns for use in cooking and similar purposes, and an ultrafiltration for direct consumption and similar uses.
- SELF-CONTROL: At Ibiza and Formentera Sea Water, we are committed to the quality of our product, which is why we perform numerous quality analyses of both the extraction area and the final product. The analyses include different parameters, following the guidelines of Royal Decree 140/2013 and Royal Decree 1799/2010 that regulate the process of production and commercialization of bottled sea water for human consumption.
