Benefits
The leaves of bearberry contain a substance called arbutoside which is metabolized into hydroquinone and eliminated through urine.
This substance has remarkable antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli, a pathogen responsible for many urinary tract infections (cystitis). In addition, bearberry is an important source of tannins with anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties, which favor the increase in urine volume and renal elimination of urea. Its association with heather, is of particular interest in the treatment of the symptoms of cystitis (such as burning and painful urination) and to prevent recurrence.
HOW TO USE:
-It is suggested, to drink 3 to 4 cups of bearberry tea a day. To prepare this infusion you need 40 gr. of bearberry leaves per liter of water.
*Because of its high tannin content, consumption at high doses can cause irritation of the mucous membranes. It should be avoided during pregnancy and if you suffer from kidney disease
