Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne Antinori is a red wine made from Sangiovese grapes in Brunello di Montalcino DOCG by the Marchesi Antinori winery.
Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located southwest of Montalcino, takes its name from the homonymous locality that is home to a historic 19th century railway station. Since 1995, the Antinori family has owned Pian delle Vigne and has sought to give its personal interpretation to this historic wine, maintaining a philosophy centred on the use of the large barrel, which allows the exceptional purity of the Sangiovese grape to be preserved and gives Brunello di Montalcino a vibrant elegance that lingers on the palate. The wine spends at least 24 months in barrel.
Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne shows a beautiful ruby red colour.
In terms of aromas, it reveals a fascinating complexity on the nose, with balsamic nuances of menthol and cloves intertwined with fruity notes of cherry, plum, dates and spicy hints of cinnamon.
On the palate, this wine is persistent and silky on the entry, highlighted by soft tannins and backed by excellent freshness. It leaves an aftertaste with notes of vanilla and hints of violet, characteristic of Sangiovese.
