Western Asturias has been the cradle of some of the most important canning factories in the region, acquiring special relevance after the reform of the port of Tapia in 1880, which promoted the establishment of large salting and canning industries in the town
The canned products of Tapia have been synonymous with quality for many decades, and this quality is what El Viejo Pescador has been able to recover since 1998. It opened its doors 17 years ago and since then has been producing canned white tuna in olive oil and pickled tuna, Cantabrian anchovies, mussels and sardines
They elaborate their preserves with selected raw materials that maintain all the original flavor of their habitat and that are reflected in the quality of all their products
The star of El Viejo Pescador is the pickled Bonito del Norte. For its delicate taste and its intense but balanced flavor. It is indisputably the flagship of the house.
