Champagne Andre Clouet Silver is a sparkling wine made from late-harvested pinot noir grapes to provide the perfect balance. The non-addition of sugars allows the character of the chalk and clay soil to be clearly transferred to the glasses and 35% of reserve wine explains its complexity.
Champagne Andre Clouet Silver Rating
The Silver Brut Nature can be compared to the feeling of gliding on dry, fresh, pure, and light powder snow. As we wet our lips, the delicate foam begins to cover our mouth, the tongue surfs in a fine effervescence while an avalanche of flavor hits our taste buds.
It is a sparkling wine made from late-harvested pinot noir grapes to provide the perfect balance. The absence of added sugars allows the character of the chalk and clay soil to be clearly transferred to the glasses, and the 35% of reserve wine explains its complexity. For example, looking at the batch bottled in the spring of 2015, 65% of the base wine was from the 2014 vintage, 10% from 2013, 20% from 2012, and 5% from 2010.
After 48 months on its lees, the bottles are disgorged individually, after careful evaluation of each batch. Disgorgement and dosage are carried out according to the wine, its specific attributes, evolution, season, and final destination, thus guaranteeing a perfect sensory experience in each bottle of André Clouet Silver Brut Nature. Bottling is done without any addition of sugar and with a permeable capsule that allows a slight exchange of oxygen to create the desired wine evolution.
After all these attentions, we find a sparkling wine that is the true natural essence of pinot noir grapes. Its nose is rich and toasty, with marked notes of nuts, orange peel, baked apple, and biscuit. Its fine bubbles elegantly convey the passage of time as the wine evolves in the glass. The palate is structured, complex, and balanced, dry and of great depth. Its good acidity and slight bitterness, along with its long finish, make it a versatile Champagne to be highly regarded in any situation.
