Around the year 1730 coffee began to be cultivated in Brazil, with plants coming from the French Guava. But until the beginning of the 19th century its production did not interest the large landowners, who would later be called "The coffee barons". Brazil is currently the largest producer of Arabica coffee in the world. The main coffee growing areas are located in the states of Sâo Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and Minas Gerais, where the best qualities are produced.
