Dalamara Kapnistos is a white wine produced by Domaine Dalamara from Assyrtiko and Malagousia grapes in Naoussa, Greece.
In the case of Kapnistos, the combination of Malagouzia and Assyrtiko undergoes an aging process in oak barrels that extends over 12 months. Through a particular maturation technique, the barrels are partially filled, thus facilitating a greater contact of the wine with oxygen during its permanence in that 12-month period.
A Greek family winery, established in 1840 in the Naoussa wine region, renowned for its dedication to the production of the indigenous Xinomavro variety. Today, the winery is certified for organic growing practices and also implements biodynamic methods. Since 2011, production management has been led by Konstantinos Dalamaras, a sixth-generation winemaker.
Boutique and traditional in character, Dalamara is distinguished by its limited production of only 40,000 bottles per year, demonstrating a deep respect for the grape variety and terroir.
It has a striking golden hue and an intense fragrance that includes notes of dried peach, caramel, honey, tobacco, vanilla, nutmeg, orange, dried flowers and hazelnut. On the palate, it stands out for its fullness and fresh acidity that harmonizes with a creamy texture on the palate.
