Mark: Veá
Estornell (starling) is the species of bird that likes olives and comes to "help" at harvest time. Under this name, Veá produces 4 varieties of Extra Virgin olive oil: Extra Virgin, Organic, Anniversary and Centenary.the acidity of the varieties of L'Estornell is very low, between 0.2 and 0.3 - in no case above 0.5 -, thanks to the rapid milling that does not exceed 24 hours after harvesting. It should be borne in mind that the acidity of the fruit increases from the moment of harvesting. This value amply complies with the standards dictated by the International Olive Council, which establishes a maximum acidity of 0.8º for virgin olive oil Extra.Aceite extra virgin olive oil from olive trees over 500 years oldFaithful to the exporting tradition and being the United States its main market, Veá wanted to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Columbus' voyage to America.Given the fact that the Veá estates contain olive trees that were already producing olives of the Arbequina variety at that time, since 1992 a limited production of extra virgin olive oil has been bottled under the brand name L'Estornell Quincentenary. To ensure the viability of this project, before starting the production and bottling of this oil, the age of the olive trees was authenticated through local records and family archives. This oil is presented in a "tavern" type bottle, like those used in the 15th century. Cold extraction.
