This farmhouse goat cheese is a Saône et Loire cheese made from Goat's milk with 24% fat.
Tasty and fragrant, the Chèvre de la Saône et Loire fermier has a chalky texture, but its 100% homemade maturing gives us many possibilities of textures and stages of maturing. By default, we offer a blue and bearded medium stage Chèvre, but you can specify your requirements when ordering. Subject to availability, we will send you a farmhouse Saône et Loire Goat ripened to your preference.
With a tasting period from March to November, this Chèvre de la Saône et Loire will go perfectly with a wine from the same region. We think of an AOC Mercurey wine on the red side, or an AOC Montagny wine on the white side. A very fruity and tangy wine like a white Pouilly-Fuissé will also help to appreciate this farm cheese at its best.
