The strawberry is a large, heart-shaped, bright red strawberry. There are many varieties of strawberries, of which the following stand out:

• Reina de los valles: the predominant strawberry variety in the Spanish market. They are tiny fruits of whitish red to bright red color and juicy pulp with a sweet and aromatic flavor.
• Camarosa: the most widely cultivated variety of strawberry. It is a large fruit, of Californian origin, very precocious, extremely bright in color and with good flavor and firmness.
• Camarosa: the most widely grown variety of strawberry
• Tudla: large, aromatic, elongated, deep red strawberries, both externally and internally
• Large Bear: Californian origin, orange-red, flattened wedge-shaped, thick caliber and good flavor
• Cartuno: of perfect conical shape, uniform caliber and bright red color. Its flavor is sugary.
• Carisma: very vigorous variety, it adapts to all types of soils and climates. It is soft red in color and large in size.
• Irwing: rounded in shape, flattened by the peduncle and matte red in color.
• Bird: Conical in shape, firm, with consistent flesh and a uniform, bright red color. Considered the variety with the best flavor of all those marketed.
• Selva: summer variety, it usually appears on the market in mid-July and lasts until the end of September

Contains pfew calories, mplenty water, hcarbohydrates, ffiber, ppotassium, magnesium, calcium, vitamnia C, folates and vvitamin E; therefore it possesses disinfectant and urine alkalizing properties; it also acts as anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant, andstabilizes blood cells and promotes fertility; it is antioxidant, promotes the fformation of collagen, bones and teeth, red blood cells; as well as theabsorption of iron from food and resistance to infections.

When buying them, it is advisable to choose thick, shiny and fresh-looking fruits. They should be purchased with the stems intact and kept until they have been washed
