Seed or nut of the ripe and dry fruit of Myristica fragans, oval-shaped, grayish-brown in color, and with a smooth surface to the touch.
It is a spice used in cooking, appetizers, meats, sauces, eggs, and especially recommended in chicken stews. It is also used in sauces, such as bechamel.
It should be used with caution as its flavor is very potent.
