Jean Leon Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva 75cl. Jean Leon. 3un.

from Delicat Gourmet

Temporarily out of stock

Only in years when the grapes are exceptional is this limited-production Gran Reserva made from the 'Vinya La Scala' vineyard, a small plot of 8 hectares planted in 1963. Considered the first wine made mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon in Spain and chosen as the official wine at Ronald Reagan's inauguration at the White House in 1981, its name pays homage to the restaurant founded by Jean Leon in Beverly Hills in Golden Hollywood. With each new vintage, the label is illustrated by a renowned artist. Gloria Muñoz has been commissioned to illustrate the 2013 vintage of Vinya La Scala, with a work that captures the landscape of the Penedès, immortalizing a sunset among the vineyards, and thus evoking the place chosen by Jean Leon to produce a wine with a singularity, personality and unique identity

Cherry red colour, with aromas of candied fruit, tobacco and smoked. On the palate, structured, oily and long finish.

Tasting notes
Cherry red colour, with good depth, with somewhat evolved edges. Intense aromas of ripe and candied fruit, undergrowth, tobacco and smoked from aging in French oak barrels. In the mouth it has a good attack, it is structured, tannic and oily, with a good balance of tannins and acidity. Long finish and persistent aftertaste.

Gastronomy
Ideal with the best red meat recipes, especially if accompanied by spicy sauces such as green pepper.
