It is a modern plant, recently introduced in European and American markets. It is cultivated in temperate climates with enough humidity, since it belongs to a subtropical type of cultivation. There are two basic varieties:
- Kiwi green-fleshed: ovoid shape, brown skin with tiny hairs, emerald green flesh. Very refreshing sweet and sour flavor.
- Kiwi gold: flattened shape, with a small crown at the tip and smooth brown skin, the flesh is golden. Sweet flavor.
It stands out for its high content in fiber and because it contains plow heatías, in addition s rich in vitamin E and in smaller amounts contains vitamins C, B3, B6, B2, B1, and K, hcarbohydrates and minerals such as potassium, iodine, calcium, phosphorus, iron and sodium; as well as folates, antioxidants, riboflavin, thianin and niacin. Due to its properties, it is beneficial to combat estrés; it has a diureétic and laxative effect; ffavors intestinal transit and avoids constipation, fights hypertension, hypertension, heart disease and diabetesinsufficiencyrenal insufficiency; it is beneficial during menopause and pregnancy; rstrengthens the immuneóg system, is anti-inflammatory, helps prevent pcardiovascular problems and ffacilitates digestion
When buying them it is advisable that they are not too ripe because soft kiwis tend to have a taste deficiency and even bad flavor.
