Viñedos del Jorco is a project of Raúl Pérez together with César Ruiz, Flequi Berruti and Nacho Jiménez, which was born from Raúl Pérez's interest in a high quality vineyard that belonged to a local winegrower who sold grapes in Paraje del Jorco, Cebreros.
After 5 years working this vineyard applying biodynamic treatments without the use of systemic products, in 2016 they decided to buy it. While waiting to build a winery in the area, the winemaking is done in Raúl's winery in El Bierzo, transporting the grapes there by refrigerated truck. Nowadays they already vinify all their wines in their own winery.
Viñedos del Jorco Las Enebradas is a red wine made with Garnacha grapes from vineyards planted in granite soils, mostly with slate. Planted at high altitude more than 60 years ago.
After the manual harvest, 40% of the grapes are fermented in an old vat and the rest in a used barrel, with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 18 months in 500 litre French oak barrels.
