Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Iteration 26 is a sparkling wine of the Champagne appellation made by Laurent-Perrier.
Millesimé in Champagne is often associated with the excellence of Cuvées de Prestige. At Laurent-Perrier, we believe that the skill of blending gives us the opportunity to create what nature would not provide: the perfect vintage. The manifestation of this ideal vintage is reflected in a superb Champagne wine that has developed profound aromatic intensity and complexity, while maintaining its freshness and acidity over time.
The three immutable principles that guide the blending of Grand Siècle are fundamental. Three exceptional years are chosen for their complementarity among Laurent-Perrier's outstanding vintages. In each of these years, Chardonnay grapes are selected for the most part, complemented by Pinot Noir from the 11 Grands Crus chosen by the House to express the distinctive style of Grand Siècle, among the 319 in Champagne. Cellar aging extends over 10 years on the lees for the 75 cl. bottle format and a few additional years for the 150 cl. magnum format. These immutable principles guarantee the quality and distinctive character of Grand Siècle.
Blend of 2012 (65%), 2008 (25%), 2007 (10%) vintages.
- 2012: winter and spring frosts had an impact on yields, which were rather moderate. The dry and sunny summer produced wines of great finesse with elegant and balanced Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs with red fruit aromas.
- 2008: The cool, sunny summer produced complex wines with good structure for an exceptional vintage. The Chardonnays are of great quality and the Pinot Noirs have a deep aromatic richness.
- 2007: a summery spring, the effects of which were mitigated by a mixed summer, revealed frank, fresh wines that will stand the test of time, with Chardonnays with complex aromas of white fruit and citrus and Pinot Noirs with aromas of yellow fruit.
8 Grands Crus
- 58% Chardonnay from: Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant, Avize.
- 42% Pinot Noir from: Tours-sur-Marne, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy.
Pale golden hue accompanied by fine, persistent bubbles.
The fragrance reveals remarkable complexity, fusing aromas of honeysuckle, lemon, clementine and fresh butter, followed by nuances of hazelnut and a subtle touch of honey.
The start on the palate is characterized by delicacy and freshness, with tones of candied lemons and freshly harvested hazelnuts. The texture on the palate is silky and mineral, presenting notes of honeysuckle, slivered almonds and clementine. The ideal serving temperature is between 10°C and 12°C (50°F and 54°F).
