Viñedos de La Bastida is a selection of 14.35 hectares (33 plots) of vineyards that reveal the peculiarities of this municipality, cradle of the most cultured wines in the history of Rioja. Tasting:
La Bastida is always later and offers a slightly more singular expression of Tempranillo. The wines are somewhat more expressive and aromatic, with red fruits and floral notes that anticipate a mouth marked by the fresh and deep precision of a somewhat more austere and vertical wine.
The 2020 vintage was characterised by milder than normal temperatures throughout the year, and very concentrated rainfall in the winter months, which generated very significant bud break and fruit set. The significant drought in the summer months caused water stress and late ripening, which was achieved thanks to the last rains in September. A selective and slow harvest made us satisfied with this complicated, but very good and abundant vintage.
