Matarromera Reserva is one of Matarromera's quintessential wines, an example of the care taken in the cultivation of grapes from its plots of Las Solanas and Las Celadillas , in Olivares de Duero, high altitude limestone plots facing south. The wine is aged in French and Americanoak barrels. They are fine-grained barrels for slow aging and very soft toasting, just to accompany the characteristics of its terroir. It is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes and remains in these barrels for 14 months before resting for a further 22 months in the bottle. Excellent color layer, dark cardinal with abundant violet tones that indicate excellent longevity. The nose is elegant, intense and very complex. Acid black fruit, cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, among riper black fruit, in harmony with a multitude of aging tones, spicy clove and black pepper, noble woods, fine roasted coffee, licorice and cocoa, with a mineral touch and Chinese ink. Good structure with an intense skeleton of sweet tannins. Velvety, long and very elegantfinish.
