Mateo Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir, is a very curious pinot noir for its sweet taste, tasted in the vinacoteca, it is the fruit of the friendship between two winemakers (José Ignacio Cuenca and Brian Loring), two countries (Spain and the USA..), Two worlds (the old and the new) and two incredible vineyards (Clos Pepe and Rancho La Viña).
El Mateo Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir, a pinot noir very curious for its sweet taste, tasted in the wine cellar, is the fruit of the friendship between two winemakers (José Ignacio Cuenca and Brian Loring), two countries (Spain and USA), two worlds (the old and the new) and two incredible vineyards (Clos Pepe and Rancho La Viña). According to the chronicles this unique blend of California's finest Pinot Noir grapes is dedicated to José Mateo Cuenca Anderson. The wine offers remarkable finesse and good oak, berry and spice. It has good tannins and a floral aroma, ending in a very sweet, curious taste. Deep ruby colour with earthy and fruity aromas. In the mouth it has a fruity compote flavour, plums and cherries with spices and a very sweet finish. A taste that is not my style, but curious in a pinot noir.
