Finca el Serrano is a red wine from Alicante PDO made from 100% Monastrell grapes by Murviedro.
The Vinos de Parcela are wines made from grapes coming from specific estates, generally of small size, selected for their soils with great character and a particular climate. In these estates, the natural environment and the vineyards are intertwined to produce authentic oenological jewels.
At Murviedro, they have carefully chosen plots located on hilltops and surrounded by forests, with the aim of creating wines with their own identity, exclusive and limited production. These plots represent special places where the combination of soil, climate and natural environment come together to give rise to unique and distinctive wines.
Finca El Serrano is a plot located in the highest part of an estate within the Alicante Protected Designation of Origin. The white limestone soil in this area reflects the sun's rays on the lower part of the plants, which contributes to balanced fruit and fresh wines. Both in viticulture and winemaking, the aim is to intervene as little as possible to bring out the full potential of the terroir. The grapes were harvested on 4 October 2020.
Fermentation is carried out at a temperature of 25°C using the natural yeasts present on the surface of the grape skins, with gentle pumping over. After 30 days of maceration, pressing takes place. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, and the wine is racked into French oak vats for ageing for 6 months before bottling.
Finca el Serrano Tasting Notes
Colour: Intense red with purple tones.
Aroma: Aroma of high intensity, highlighting the very ripe fruit on a background of toasted oak of great elegance.
Taste: Fleshy, complex, with an unctuous palate, balanced tannins and a roasted finish.
