Origin

The modern banana is believed to have originated in South Asia and Indochina and was discovered by Marco Polo. From there, the plant cultivated by indigenous people was taken to Africa and Spain, with Spanish missionaries planting it in Central and South America. The term banana comes from the Arabic "banan=finger."

Bananas are deep yellow in color and their flavor is less intense than that of the Canary Island Banana.

It has a high content of vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E. In addition to potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, fiber and a high energy intake. Its potassium content is higher than in other varieties, however the amount of carbohydrates, soluble sugars and sucrose are higher in other varieties
