Physalis peruviana, also known as golden berry, is a member of the Solanaceae family (Solanaceae), native to Peru, Chile and Ecuador. The fruit is similar in appearance to the Chinese lantern and is the size of a marble. The cape gooseberry is a perennial plant and its fruits are produced in clusters. Physalis peruviana is rich in vitamins A and C, and is used in cakes, jams and other desserts.
Storage:
Store physalis in a cool, dry room in a lattice box or box with holes for ventilation at a temperature of +12-14 degrees. Healthy, ripe fruit can be kept for up to two months under these conditions.
