Seed or nut of the mature and dry fruit of Myristica fragans, oval in shape, grayish-brown in color, and smooth to the touch surface. It is a spice used in cooking, appetizers, meats, sauces, eggs, and especially recommended in chicken stews. It is used in sauces, such as bechamel. It should be used with caution as its flavor is very strong.
