The Vino Tinto Sierras de Gata y Gredos by Bodegas Península Vinicultores, presents this red wine created from the Garnacha, Rufete and Piñuela grape varieties from the Sierra de Gredos and the Sierra de Gata.
More precisely, the Gredos part (40% of the total) comes from Cadalso de los Vidrios (Madrid) and is exclusively made from Garnacha grapes, planted on granite soil, harvested by hand and fermented in concrete tanks at a temperature of no more than 28°C. The Sierra de Gata part (60% of the total), on the other hand, comes from a vineyard in Villamiel (Cáceres), planted on blue granite and terraced on a southeast-facing slope with different varieties mixed in the same plot (Rufete, Piñuela and Garnacha). These grapes were harvested by hand and fermented at a temperature of no more than 26°C, in stainless steel tanks with daily punch-downs.
