The Scala Dei Prior red wine is a clear reflection of what the Priorat DO is. A wine with the fruitiness and power of Priorat's Garnacha, with a great structure and aromas.
Cellers Scala Dei is the founding winery of the DOQ Priorat and a benchmark for quality even before the rediscovery of the area in the 1980s.
The wine comes from a selection of old vineyards located at different altitudes and orientations. Each year, it is decided based on the quality of the grapes which ones make up the Prior Scala Dei.
They are heirs to the tradition of the Carthusian monks, who selected the best vineyards in the region and were the first to sell bottled wines in 1973.
Forgotten for a while, it has regained its vitality and has become one of the best references in the appellation.
