Scone Barrel Aged Barley Wine 33cl

LIMITED EDITION: This exclusive edition has been released after spending several months in Pedro Ximenez barrels, leaving its flavor marked with hints of wood:

• Bright dark color, with dark red tones and reddish, burgundy highlights. Beige foam, dense and compact with great retention.
• Initial notes of toffee, banana and background of chocolate, nuts, and herbal notes.
• On the palate, notes of sherry from the barrels are perceived, with sweet notes of dried fruits. As it warms up, it evolves towards liqueur-like notes reminiscent of Whiskey. Liqueur aftertaste.
• Even with its 10.5% alcohol content, the beer is easily drinkable. It doesn't invite long sips, but it does ask for constant short sips. The flavor fills the entire mouth, it feels round and without sharp notes. It maintains a good balance although it leans more towards the side of malts and sweet tones. The evolution, as it warms up, takes you from the fresh tones of hops to dried fruits, culminating in notes of liqueur.
• It pairs well alone if desired because it is so flavorful that it doesn't need anything else, but if you want to accompany it with something, blue cheese is a perfect match, whether it's Roquefort, Cabrales, etc. It is a safe choice with desserts, such as rice pudding, walnut cake, cheesecake...
