Shannon Oscar Browne Chardonnay is a white wine made from Chardonnay by Shannon Vineyards Winery under the Elgin Valley Appellation in South Africa.
It is harvested twice during the harvest to maximise the spectrum of flavours that the vineyards have to offer.
The Chardonnay bunches are cooled to 3°C overnight before being tipped onto a conveyor belt where the bunches are hand sorted for whole bunch pressing. After pressing, the wine is transferred to barrels for natural fermentation by indigenous yeasts. It undergoes malolactic fermentation in 100% barrel but without lees stirring.
A range of vibrant floral, saline, citrus/tangerine and white peach flavours are expressed with a mineral touch of river stone. Power and elegance are respected in this beautiful expression of Chardonnay that shows the full spectrum of flavours.
