The Red Wine Pasere Marathon, is a wine that has as author Martin Smith. It is composed of grape varieties 60% PetitVerdot, 40% Carménère. The location of the vineyards is in Tulbagh, Swartland and Elgin, South Africa.the grapes are fermented in French oak barrels and shaken carefully to avoid extra squeezing of the grapes. Matured 16 months in French oak barrels, 30% new.

Marathon is their red wine, and the label features a swallow, the únly South African bird that crosses to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean to spend the summer. The bird recalls Martin's own journey and stay in California, and reflects his experience in making quality wines.

His collector's wines are made with the know-how of an artisan winemaker, such as Martín Smith; the labels are designed by professional draftsmen; bottled by hand and sealed with wax, one by one.

The Paserene series is a collector's wine to be enjoyed on special occasions. Only 2000 bottles of this Marathon have been bottled, of which we have been able to award a batch that Wines and Vinos has brought to Spain to be enjoyed by the Spanish public. The Carménère variety has been certified by Martin himself to be included in his Marathon, being the first and only winemaker in South Africa to use this variety in his wines.

The alcohol content of the wine is 13.5%.
