The origins of Cherubino Valsangiacomo date back to 1831, in Switzerland, with the first family winery. At the end of the 19th century, the second generation decided to open a wine export company in Valencia and Alicante, attracted by the logistic conditions of its ports and the excellent fruit of the land. Cherubino, like his father, gives his name to the wineries
Gradually, the business became so big that Cherubino Valsagiacomo had several facilities in Chiva, Requena, Utiel, Monóvar, Yecla and Grao de Valencia, the latter being the company's headquarters until 1997. That year Cherubino makes an important commitment to the future and quality and moves to Chiva, whose facilities are equipped with the appropriate means for the treatment and storage of bulk wines and equipped with a plant for the production of concentrated grape juice, increases and improves the capacity of the facilities. In 2002 the winery was further expanded and modernized with the creation of a new plant and bottling line. This plant is equipped with a cellar that can hold 2,000 barrels
In 2008 the SanJuan bobal project began, aimed at the production of red and rosé wines 100% from old bobal vines, fermented and matured in raw cement tanks. The old facilities of the Coop de SanJuan are adapted to the new way of elaborating and aging the bobal grape, always preserving the value of the raw cement.
The project completes the project of the Coop de SanJuan
The project is completed with the acquisition of a 10-hectare plot of centenary goblet-trained bobal grapes located 750m above sea level in the municipality of Requena
Currently, the fifth generation of the Valsangiacomo family is in charge of the direct management of the winery, showing a commitment to its future and development
