Valbuena 5º is the purest expression of red wine in Vega Sicilia, with an aging of five years between wood and bottle, which gives its name to the wine: Valbuena 5º.
The first year of aging is in barrel and is especially important. It works with 75% French oak and 25% American oak. In this first stage, the aim is to build the wine, working the structure, sucrosity and density. The second year of aging is developed in large wooden vats and in this phase, elegance, complexity, tension and subtlety are gained.
