Of apicultural origin, beeswax is obtained from the honeycombs built by bees. INGREDIENTS Its main composition (75-80%) is myricyl palmitate derived from the esterification of palmitic acid and myricyl alcohol; 15% is free acids and the rest are variable hydrocarbons. PROPERTIES It has a waxy appearance, in the form of very pale yellow scales. It is liposoluble and melts at 62-65ºC. In the food industry, it is the additive E901.
