Of beekeeping origin, beeswax is obtained from the honeycombs built by bees. INGREDIENTS Its main composition (75-80%) is myrisyl palmitate derived from the esterification of palmitic acid and myrisyl alcohol; 15% are free acids and the rest are variable hydrocarbons. PROPERTIES It has a waxy appearance, in the form of very pale yellow flakes. It is fat-soluble and melts at 62-65ºC. In the food industry it is the additive E901.
