The Wine from the Villa of Otero del Toral, Anibal de Otero, is a carefully crafted red wine made from Mencía grapes from vines over 90 years old. The vineyards are located on the slopes of the village of Otero de Toral, at an altitude of 500-600 meters, giving the wine a unique and authentic character. The 2018 vintage underwent 6 months of aging in 225-liter French oak barrels, adding smoky and spicy notes to the intense aromatic profile of red and black fruits. Aníbal de Otero winery, part of the D.O. Bierzo, produces this wine using sustainable methods and hand-harvested grapes. The result is a wine with balanced acidity, polished tannins, and great longevity in the bottle. Ideal for pairing with mushroom risotto, piquillo peppers, or legume stews.
