All of the grapes, a 100% Tinto Fino, come from the villages of La Horra and Hontoria de Valdearados, located at average altitudes between 850 and 900 metres above sea level, all in the province of Burgos. These grapes are harvested from old vineyards over 60 years old.
In French oak barrels for 20 months, with 10% of the final blend having undergone malolactic fermentation in the barrel.
Visually, the wine has a dark cherry red colour with garnet hues.
In terms of aroma, the nose is pleasant but deeply complex. From the primary aromas typical of the variety, such as liquorice, to spicy notes of white pepper, together with fruity aromas of plum and subtle notes of fig compote. On the palate, there is remarkable density and length, with a predominance of black fruit and spice flavours, attributable to the subtle influence of the oak. The wine is both friendly and balanced, with great volume and freshness backed by good acidity. The tannins are perfectly integrated, which makes it a highly versatile wine for gastronomy, being an ideal choice for the most discerning palate.
